Germany has made it easier for foreigners to come into the country. They launched a card called the “Opportunity Card” on the 1st of June, 2024. This card permits workers from third Countries to enter Germany in order to seek employment. The biggest shortage of unemployment is currently happening in the Health care, Hospitality, IT and other sectors. I know that you’re probably excited to find out more about this, don’t worry, I won’t beat around the bush too much.
So, this is how it works
For every step you take, you will receive points. So just think of it as a game.
Professional Experience
The first point that you’ll receive is if you can prove that you have at least two years of professional experience. And if you can provide that, you’ll receive two points.
Language
Now gaining this point can be tricky, but, you’ll get it right. you will receive one point if your German language skill is up to an A2 level, two points if it’s at the B1 level and three points for B2 or higher. Now, some of you may not have heard of these types of exams before. If you wish to find out more, we have a free guide, that will explain to you what these exams are and why it is necessary to write them. Whether you’re a student who wants to study in Germany or someone who wants to work in Germany and get a good paying job, you’ll surely need to take the test first. If you have English language skills at level C1 or higher, or at the native level, then you will receive an additional point. Now that’s four points for language alone. That’s a lot. Age
People younger than 35 will receive two points. While people between the age of 35
and 40 will be awarded with one point.
Joint Application
Many can’t bear to live so far away from their Spouses, so that’s one of the reasons why the ‘Opportunity Card’ was invented. If you wish to enter Germany with your Spouse, and you both apply for an Opportunity card at the same German mission, then one extra point will be awarded for one of the two applications, provided the other requirements are also fulfilled. See, it’s easy!
Additional Information
One last important thing to note is that, when you apply for the Opportunity Card, you will need to provide proof that your professional qualification is valid, in either Germany or in the country it was obtained. But the only problem now is that, by the time you’re reading this, many others would probably have found this out already, so the best time to apply for an Opportunity card is now! Don’t miss this opportunity to get it cheap while it’s still in its early phase.
And if you have all the qualifications already, but you’re lacking in the language aspect, we have a full guide that you can download for free that will help you understand what you need to know about the language test and how to pass it with ease.
